Carter is inspiring to me for her over three decades worth of influence to the entertainment industry through her costume designs. Carter has influenced the entertainment industry with her talent and has helped shape the perception of Black culture in cinema. Carter is now the first Black costume designer and second costume designer ever to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
